The Skinny on the Boilers 2007

Phil Steele: 35th nationally/t-4th Big Ten
Schedule Strength: 44th
Sporting News: 40th nationally/6th Big Ten
Coach: Joe Tiller (75-49 in 10 years at Purdue)
Series: MSU leads 29-27-3
Website: www.purduesports.com
Best Player: WR Dorien Bryant caught 80 balls in 2005 to lead the conference; last year, he caught 87. How many in 2007? And he's not in the NFL?
2007 season clincher: Oct. 6 vs Ohio St. This is the year for Purdue to take out a Buckeye team that is down a notch from its title-tilt-winning level. The ES picks Purdue in this solid matchup contest.
2007 biggest pitfall: Oct. 13 at scUM. Coming off a win, or at least a tough battle, at Michigan will leave the Boiles bruised to face the Yellow Bellies. It's a tough scheduling gimmick.
2007 biggest creampuff(s): The home game against a perenniel TERRIBLE team of Eastern Michigan ain't fare. Where was Charlie Batch when you needed him?
Biggest weakness: Two main issues: 1) Lack of delivery by the team.
Biggest strength(s): The Boiler offensive line returns four solid starters, and has depth. Jordan Freaking Grimes is 334-lbs, and just 6-3. He is as wide as a rhino.
Chance to win: 3 of 5. Rating scale. We will win because I hate Joe Tiller. He has singlehandeldy destroyed what the Big Ten stood for over the years, but instituting a spread offensive system that took away from the running game (Three Yards and a Cloud of Dust) and hard nosed defense mantra.

We will win because I hate Tiller.
