Northwestern
Gridder GPA: Swenson earns straight 4.0; team earns 2.80.
With
over 300 votes in, here are the grades from the Windy City Miracle
vs Northwestern. The biggest comeback victory in the history of
college football, with MSU erasing a 35-pt defecit to win, 41-38--
YOU VOTED THESE GRADES. The grades are based on MSU's grading scale
(A=4.0, A-=3.5, etc.).
Brett
Swenson, the team's FG kicker, earned the first straight 4.0 this
week, he hit two FGs including the game winner. QB Drew Stanton,
who led the team's comeback despite being banged up and injured
during the game, earned a 3.55. Safety Otis Wiley led the defense
with a 3.43 GPA. Notable was the coaching staff, which earned a
1.73 -- they did not fail this week, although letting NW get a 38-3
lead is not necessarily great coaching... the voters seem to concur
with the greater sentiment of the Spartan Nation that it was the
players, and not the coaches, that brought the team back from the
depths of hell.
As
a whole, the team graded out to a C+ with a 2.80 GPA overall.
