ES Gridder GPA Winner: Eric Smith - 3.30 GPA; Team GPA 2.62
(12/2/05)--The
ES has calculated the GPA for the entire season, and -- with over
4,000 public votes counted -- Eric Smith is the 2005 ES Gridder
GPA Winner for the Spartan Football Team. Smith finished with an
impressive 3.30 GPA overall (That's a B+) -- he was by far the most
consistently highly graded Spartan all year, even with the downward
spiral of the team. The voters recognized his consistently high
play and gave him high marks all season long; he was ranked among
the top 7 players in 8 of the 10 games graded (winning with a 3.39
GPA vs Purdue), never finishing worse than 11th. Jerramy Scott was
a close second with a 3.21 GPA. Twice, versus JoePa and Ohio State,
Scott graded out highest as the teams best player. Drew Stanton
finished seventh with a 3.04 GPA (B). The coaching staff finished
with a 1.85 GPA (D+) for the season, and the team finished with
a 2.62 (C+) overall.
